Mecca Cosmetica Soft Focus Smoothing Primer Review

If you’ve ever been looking for a high quality & affordable primer that files in fine lines & pores and gives your skin some hydration at the same time, then this is it - the Soft Focus Smoothing Primer by Mecca Cosmetica. Up until about a week ago, I’d honestly never tried anything from the Mecca Cosmetica range and I don’t know why when the products are just so good! The packaging is so simple, yet elegant in it’s own way and really reflects Mecca’s feminine chic vibe.

This primer comes in two different sizes - a 15 ml tube for $17.00 AUD & a 45 ml bottle for $40.00 AUD. As I’d never tried the primer before and wasn’t sure how it would work with my dry skin, I got the 15 ml bottle and can now safely say that I will be purchasing the 45 ml size as soon as I’ve run out! Mecca has come out with a few different primers including: Soft Focus Smoothing (nourishes your skin & improves the staying power of foundation), Complexion Perfection (cools & conceals redness for an even skin tone) , Sun Kissed Bronzing (tinted to give warmth & radiance to the skin), Lit From Within (brightens, revives & illuminates dull skin) & Fresh Face Hydrating (oil free formula made to hydrate skin) and I’m sure that I’ll be trying a few others. The Soft Focus Smoothing Primer isn’t like any other “pore filling” primer I’ve ever tried. When applying it to my face, I can instantly see the difference in the size of my pores and my fine lines aren’t as visible as before. Not only does it smooth out any imperfections on my face but it also soothes my sensitive skin and my foundation applies flawlessly and doesn’t slide off like some other primers can do. Also, I just quickly want to mention how amazing this stuff smells (it’s not a strong, harsh fragrance) but it just has that clean, fresh smell that you want when applying products to your face, well at least I do..

Overall, I would say that if you aren’t sure on which one of the Mecca Cosmetica Primers would suit you best, give the 15 ml smaller size tubes a go and see what works for you. Mecca also currently have a limited edition Primer Wardrobe for $45.00 AUD that includes three different 15 ml primers - Fresh Faced, Lit From Within & Soft Focus. 10/10 would recommend trying this product if you are anything like me where you struggle with dry skin & fine lines/large pores.
