Stuck for ideas on what to get your mum for Mother's Day this year? Well worry no more, I've put together a list of my top 10 favourites for mum's all over the world.
Now that's not to say that if you buy any old item off this list she's going to love it, but if you make it just that extra bit special and treat your mum like the superwoman she is, you just might score some extra brownie points! And remember, a heartfelt & handwritten card is an important gift too - don't leave this out because if your mum is anything like mine, she'll have these in 50 years time. (Although I'm pretty sure that they all do that, it's a mum thing right?)
So check out the list below on what I think could be perfect for your mum this Mother's day! Feel free to let me know what you love spoiling your mum with - I'd love to hear (and maybe even score a few ideas while I'm at it!)

Candles
Glasshouse Candles are by far my favourite candles ever to have hit the earth. These things last for months and smell absolutely divine - you can purchase them on their website (at the bottom of this post) for around $42.95 AUD each with free shipping over $100. Oh and if you buy 3+ items, you score a Luxe Gift too for mum (or to keep for yourself).
Pampering Products
Some of my all time favourite pampering products from Lush Cosmetics are the bath bombs (obviously!), bubble bars, lip scrubs and the bath melts. Another favourite of mine (and my mum's too actually) is the Bath Milk from the Body Shop - it's basically a powder that you add into the bath and it makes your skin feel so soft, smooth and silky. Mmmm..
Perfume
Put it this way - what mum doesn't love perfume? I have fond memories of being a little girl sneaking into mum's bedroom to find her perfumes and smother myself in them! Some favourites of mine (and my mums) are by Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana. To find yourself a good bargain (in Australia) I suggest heading to Chemist Warehouse or a discount chemist.
Spa Voucher
Beauty and spa vouchers are always a hit with mums (& daughters)! You could get her a voucher so that she can pick out what treatment she'd like, get her a massage, a manicure or pedicure, or plan to have a mother/daughter day and hit the beauty spa together!
Fresh Flowers
Need I say more? Flowers are a given. Always.
Jewellery
There is something so special about receiving jewellery from the people nearest to your heart which is why this is perfect for your mum this Mother's Day. It doesn't have to be expensive and if she has a Pandora bracelet or any other type of charm bracelet, you could always look at adding to her collection here too.
Home Decor
Depending on the item itself, I love giving my mum little trinkets for around the house: photo frames, jewellery stands or even canvases with inspirational quotes on them. I am in love with the Cristina Re High Tea Collection - they have tea cup & saucer sets, tea strainers, tea pots, mugs, side plates, cutlery, sugar bowls and even cake stands!
Keepsake Photos
Being a photographer, I believe that photos are, hands down, the most precious gift you can give. Memories captured to last a life time, something you can look back on any day, anywhere, whenever you please. There are so many great companies out there now days that offer cheap canvases, prints, metal & glass prints! You could even look at getting some photos of you and your siblings for mum or a photography voucher to get the whole family together for the occasion.
Something Homemade
Don't you remember those days back in primary school where you would spend hours on end putting together a selection of different home-made presents for your mum at Mother's Day, birthdays and Christmas? Handmade cards, finger paintings, pasta necklaces (oh the shame) and drawings of everyone looking like potatoes.. Mum's love that stuff! Maybe now that you're older try to steer clear of the pasta necklace (they're not in fashion anymore) but Pinterest is great for inspiration on DIY gifts for mum!
Treat Mum for the Day
Not all gifts have to be physical objects & possessions. Sometimes the most meaningful gift you can give your mum is you & your presence. So spend the day with your mum this Mothers Day, treat her to breakfast in bed (skip the Maccas breaky today), take her out for a picnic lunch at the local park or beach, and even cook her dinner (by candlelight if you're after extra brownie points) and trust me, it will be appreciated. If you take the time to put in the effort to show your mum that you do love and care for her, it'll show.
